Have you heard of BHLDN?

Hi Nomads,

If you haven't heard yet, Urban Outfitters' brand Anthropologie has a little surprise unveiling on February 14, 2011 called "BHLDN" (Beholden).  This may be the first time since grade school that I'm excited for Valentines Day.  Here's a few other images from their website:
Ooh la la!  I can't wait to find out more!  Sign-up for emails on their new website: BHLDN and find out what the surprise is the day it happens!

Happy Sparkles!

Yours truly,
Alex

Anthro-Soho Visual Display Update!

Sorry it's been so long.  I was a little shocked to find out who had looked at my blog the first time (Hi!) I posted, but I didn't hear any bad remarks, so I'm back!  I cannot say enough amazing things about the visual display and visual merchandising staff at the Soho Anthropologie.  Everyone is so kind, so hard-working, and SO very talented!  I'm blown away every Friday, even at 7 am.  And even better?  I haven't killed a plant yet!  Woop!  Anyhow, I know what you really want:
I only attached about four to six inches of the rope on to the actual wall, but I'm still so proud to be a part of it!  It looks amazing.  The girls and I (thanks for making me feel so included!) were laughing that people wanted to know if the ticket bed canopy was for sale rather than the rope.  The rope takes a long time to make and the tickets are rather easy.  Close-up:
It is somewhat ironic.  But I understand - the visual impact is amazing - very Anthropologie.  Like I've said before...genius.

Happy thoughts!

Yours truly,
Alex

Anthropologie Intership Day 4

In the beginning...
In the end...
I love this internship!  7 1/2 hours and something to really show for it!  (Don't you love the "Beetlejuice door?!"  It just sort of happened.)

...and some "process" for those interested!
xoxo Alex

PS: I ran a 10K in Central park this weekend with a great friend of mine...I am still SO sore but it was extremely worth it!  Here's a photo from the very start!

Anthropologie Intership Day 2

I am currently doing the Visual Display Internship at Anthropologie in Manhattan (Soho store usually) and it is ROCKIN' my world!  I am completely inspired to get my glue gun out and get to work.  Here's some eye-candy!
Weaving veneer between placed slats that have been curved.
The weaving so far plus the coffee filter dress and the rest of the Soho Store.  (I didn't work on the dyed coffee filter dress - before my internship - but isn't it AWESOME!)

Have a wonderful holiday weekend and CRAFT!
