Have you heard of BHLDN?

Hi Nomads,

If you haven't heard yet, Urban Outfitters' brand Anthropologie has a little surprise unveiling on February 14, 2011 called "BHLDN" (Beholden).  This may be the first time since grade school that I'm excited for Valentines Day.  Here's a few other images from their website:
Ooh la la!  I can't wait to find out more!  Sign-up for emails on their new website: BHLDN and find out what the surprise is the day it happens!

Happy Sparkles!

Yours truly,
Alex

Absolutely love this image I found on flickr today while working on a Parsons project and I have to say that I agree with the title!

Happy Snow Day!

Spring Semester at Parsons has Begun!

Ciao Nomads!

It's my final semester at Parsons (at least as a student) and I've got so many emotions that I kind of don't know what to say!  But I am never without words...

I am already a few hundred dollars in this semester and I've only attended 5 classes...4 more to go!  It's going to be crazy taking 9 but I know I can handle it after the craziness that was last semester.  And at least I don't have a job this semester (well, my freelance work still continues - ha!), which means that I committed myself to an internship for Fashion Week and I am THRILLED to get the chance to work with the Peter Som team.  Not sure if I will just be working Peter Som, just Tommy Hilfiger - womenswear, or both, but I am excited for whatever experience I can get with such a talented team.

Also, anyone know what this "Parsons Festival" is that is changing the format of our finals this semester?  When is the Parsons Graduation in May 2011?

I will leave you with this - which I am sure will be posted on every fashion-loving blog in the neighborhood.  Enjoy:
Bravo Riccardo Tisci, bravo!

Happy Dreams!

Yours truly,
Alex

TLC's "What Not to Wear"

Hi Nomads!

I was so thrilled to be a part of the 01/18/10 (season 8, episode 29) airing of TLC's "What Not to Wear!"  Thanks to some hardworking designer friends, Kyle Pasciutti and Jessica Hurwit we were able to get together and make this cake for Stacy London to pop-out of to surprise pastry chef Aleishe.  (That's me testing out the tissue paper before the actual filming.)  What do you think of our final cake design?!

Happy Baking!

Yours truly,
Alex

L'Oreal Youth Code!

Dear Nomads,

I was lucky enough to receive a L'Oreal Youth Code Clinical Strength Starter System Kit from L'Oreal and Vogue (thank you both!) and have been using it for just over two weeks now.  I'm definitely seeing an improvement!  If you knew me you'd see that I unfortunately (or maybe fortunately since high school is a positive experience in my eyes) started to get acne in the past year rather than in high school (I'm 25 now).  My face has had a bit of a dull texture and I had a few breakouts on my cheeks.  In just these two weeks I have seen a MAJOR improvement!  My skin has a more even-tone and even has the dewy look that I was hoping for.  My skin is almost clear and I haven't had dry spots since I started the day/night cream or that tight skin feeling around my eyes.  I think it's the serum that is creating the even tone and all I can say to you is that I highly recommend it to those that have dull skin or those that want to fight wrinkles before they happen!  It just came to the US so check it out at your local drugstore (or see "Where to Buy" on L'Oreal's website here!).

Thanks again L'Oreal and Vogue! (Click the names for Facebook links!)

Happy Age Defying!

Yours truly,
Alex
